Born in 1990 in Caracas, Venezuela, Yefren Carrero began his musical studies at the age of twelve. Three years later, he joined the trumpet section of the Luis Gilberto Mendoza Youth Symphony Orchestra. At the age of 16, he joined the Simón Bolívar del Táchira Symphony Orchestra.

In 2007, he became trumpetist in the Teresa Carreño Symphony Orchestra. The following year, he joined the euphonium section of the Simon Bolivar Symphony Band of Venezuela, where he quickly became principal, and person in charge of working with and conducting different sections of the band.

In 2009, he became a member of the Venezuelan Brass Ensemble, with which he performed nationally and internationally: Royal Festival Hall in London, Mahler Festival in Los Angeles, Carnegie Hall in New York , Salzburg Festival among others. At the same time, he held the position of artistic and administrative director, and teacher at the National Academy of Euphonium in Venezuela for 3 years.

In 2013 he was invited as a soloist to the first National Euphonium Festival in Bogota, Colombia. The same year, he moved to Paris to continue his musical studies. As a student of the class of the international soloist Bastien Baumet, he unanimously obtained his diploma of musical studies (DEM) in the CRR of Paris with the maximum honors from the jury.

In 2015, he began his work as a trombone, euphonium and tuba teacher in the organization TUTTI Passeurs d’Arts. In 2016, he won the gold medal at the European Grand Duke Adolfo Competition for Young Soloists, in Luxembourg. This accomplishment helped him build a network of different programs around the world inspired by El Sistema from Venezuela such as: El Sistema Grecia- SEYO 2017, El Sistema England- SEYO 2018, Sistema Academie Sweden- 2019, Side by Side 2019-2022, guest El Sistema Japon 2021 and 2022.

Yefren was in charge of the creation and installation of the first socio-musical artistic project and the creation of the Ivory Coast Philharmonic Orchestra, occupying the position of general, artistic and pedagogical director of the entire project in the African continent.

Currently professor of trumpet, cornet French horn, trombone, euphonium and tuba, and music conductor Yefren participates with his students in orchestral meetings, competitions, concerts at international level  as Side by Side, El Sistema Academy-Sweden, SEYO- Greece, UK, Spain, World Congress of El Sistema-Venezuela, Semaine du son-UNESCO Paris, as well as competitions in National TV (France) Prodige de la musique classique France 2-2023.
